San Jose, Calif. – July 20, 2009 – NeoPhotonics today announced the appointment of J. D. Fay as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. In his role Mr. Fay is responsible for global finance, investor relations, information technology and legal matters for the Company. He had served as the company's interim CFO since January 2009. Mr. Fay joined NeoPhotonics in May 2007 as the Company's Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel.
Before NeoPhotonics, Mr. Fay was Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and General Counsel for @Road, a leading global provider of mobile resource management solutions. In these roles, he was responsible for acquisitions, public company compliance, legal and government business development.
Notable accomplishments during his tenure there include his representing @Road in all major company transactions, including an IPO, secondary stock offering and private financings totaling over $230 million, and the sale of @Road to Trimble Navigation (NASDAQ: TRMB) for $500 million during 2007.
Prior to @Road, J.D. practiced corporate and securities law for the Venture Law Group. There he represented deal-intensive technology companies and their venture capital investors in IPOs, financings, acquisitions and general corporate matters. He is a graduate with honors of Harvard Law School and of North Central College in Illinois.
