Former Ericsson EVP Brings More than 25 Years of Fixed and Mobile Telecoms Experience to the NeoPhotonics Board San Jose, Ca. – March 3, 2009 – NeoPhotonics today announced the appointment of Mr. Björn Olsson to the company’s Board of Directors. A native of Sweden, Mr. Olsson most recently served as Executive Vice President and Deputy Head of Business Unit Networks, Ericsson Group, and as a member of the Ericsson Group Executive Management Team. Mr. Olsson worked for Ericsson or Ericsson venture companies for more than 25 years. During his career, Mr. Olsson held several senior management positions at Ericsson, including: Executive Vice President and Head of Business Unit Systems, Vice President and Head of Business Unit TDMA Cellular Systems, Vice President and Head of Transmission and Transport Networks and a two-year stint as CIO. In his most recent position, Mr. Olsson also led the initial phase of integrating companies acquired by Ericsson in the U.S. -- Redback Networks, Entrisphere and Marconi, North America. In addition, he served as the Chairman of Ericsson Cables, with joint ventures in China, India and Malaysia, Ericsson Power Modules and Ericsson Market Unit Nordics and Baltics.
