Press Releases
NeoPhotonics to Showcase 400G Coherent Product Suite at OFC 2017
Full Suite of Optical Component and Pluggable Module Solutions for
400G Data Center Interconnect and Metro Transport Applications
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 21, 2017--
NeoPhotonics Corporation (NYSE:NPTN), a leading designer and
manufacturer of optoelectronic solutions for the highest speed
communications networks in telecom and datacenter applications, today
announced that it is showcasing its suite of products for 400G coherent
systems at the Optical Fiber Communications (OFC) Conference and
Exhibition at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles,
California, March 21 to 23. Headlining this product suite is the
ClearLightTM 64 Gbaud CFP2-ACO pluggable module, which
incorporates NeoPhotonics' new generation of coherent optical components
for 400G applications. Also included in the 400G coherent product suite
are NeoPhotonics 64 Gbaud Micro Modulator (Micro-MOD), 64 Gbaud Micro
Coherent Receiver (Micro-ICR) and ultra-narrow line width tunable laser.
NeoPhotonics 400G product suite offers solutions uniquely designed for
the demanding requirements of higher-order modulation coherent systems.
64 Gbaud CFP2-ACO: This ClearLightTM
CFP2-ACO pluggable coherent module uses the new generation of 64 Gbaud
optical components to achieve 400G single wavelength coherent transport
for data center and metro applications. It runs at 64 Gbaud, twice the
symbol rate of 100G systems, and supports higher-order modulation of 16,
32 and 64 QAM.
64 Gbaud Micro-MOD: NeoPhotonics 64 GBaud,
polarization multiplexed, quadrature micro-modulator features
co-packaged InP modulator with linear, high bandwidth, differential
drivers in a compact package to operate in 400G and beyond pluggable
modules that demand reduced size and power consumption requirements.
64 Gbaud Micro-ICR: NeoPhotonics Class 40
High Bandwidth Micro-Intradyne Coherent Receiver is designed for 64
Gbaud symbol rates, doubling the RF bandwidth of today’s 100G ICRs. The
64 Gbaud Micro-ICR supports higher order modulation up to 64 QAM.
Low Profile Micro-TL: NeoPhotonics
ultra-narrow linewidth external cavity tunable laser has been proven in
volume production and is now configured in a smaller, lower profile
package, which is designed to meet the stringent requirements for
packaging density in pluggable modules. The external cavity laser has a
significantly narrower linewidth, which is advantageous for higher order
modulation formats of 16 QAM and above.
“We are pleased to showcase our suite of 400G ready pluggable modules
and components,” said Tim Jenks, Chairman and CEO of NeoPhotonics. “To
reach the highest possible speed in a manufacturable module, each
component must also achieve the highest performance while also being
based on a durable manufacturable platform. Our 400G suite evolved
directly from our 100G offering heightened performance, extended reach
and higher order modulation and are derived directly from platform
products already in volume production,” continued Mr. Jenks.
In separate news releases, NeoPhotonics announced that it will
demonstrate its ClearLightTM 100G CFP-DCO and the ClearLightTM
CFP2-ACO for 400G and 600G coherent transport, as well as its 10 km CFP8
400G transceiver for client and data center networks. NeoPhotonics is
also a partner to Ciena in expanding Wavelogic Ai technology for 400G
applications.
In addition, Dr. Winston Way, NeoPhotonics Chief Technology Officer,
will give a talk at entitled “High Bandwidth Components for
Single-Lambda 400G Coherent Systems” as part of the Market Watch Panel
entitled “Market Outlook for High Bandwidth Optical Technologies”
Tuesday, 12:30-2:00 pm, March 21.
NeoPhotonics will exhibit at OFC in booth 3017 its suite of standard and
small form factor PIC-based components for 100G to 600G coherent
line-side applications, along with its 100G and 400G client-side and
data center CFP2 and CFP8 transceivers, along with its multi-cast
switches for “contentionless” ROADMs.
